Rome Fight for Gold Deluxe is the sharper upgrade to Foxium's coin hunt classic, with crisper graphics and a Hold and Win bonus that's had some muscle added. Antonius and Helena are back to help you haul in the gold, and this time they've brought a Mystery symbol along for the ride.

Casinos with the highest RTP for Rome Fight for Gold Deluxe

We log into every casino, open the game, and read the RTP setting straight from the help files. The list below updates continuously from our own database.

A high RTP means a bigger share of the bets is theoretically paid back over time, so it pays to find the right place before the reels start spinning.

How many spins does your budget buy

Curious how far your bankroll actually stretches depending on the RTP setting you're spinning on? The calculation below spells out the difference.

If you start playing with $200 and bet $1 per spin, we can compare how many spins you get depending on the payout level.

At the highest level of 96.37%, you theoretically lose 3.63% of your bet per spin, which equals $0.04 per spin. That gives you approximately 5 510 spins before your budget runs out.

At a lower payout level of 94.57%, the theoretical loss is 5.43%, which is $0.05 per spin. That means you can spin approximately 3 683 times before the money runs out.

The difference is 1 827 spins between these levels – quite a significant difference when you think about it!

Bonus features and Hold and Win

The base game revolves around Coin Collect. Bronze coins pay 1x to 5x your stake, silver coins 6x to 15x, and gold coins a hefty 20x to 50x. Land a Collect symbol on the fifth reel and every visible coin gets swept up, with the whole haul also multiplied by anywhere from 1x to 5x.

Landing three scatter symbols instead triggers the Hold and Win bonus, with three spins that reset every time a new coin or special symbol lands. Antonius adds his own multiplier of 1x to 5x, Helena raises the reset value of the spin counter by one, and the Mystery symbol can reveal itself as either Antonius, Helena, or a straight coin value. Fill the grid with 20 coin symbols and you'll bank the Grand Prize, worth a massive 20,000x your stake.

Paylines and bet levels

Rome Fight for Gold Deluxe spins on 5 reels and 4 rows with 40 fixed paylines. Bets range from roughly CA$0.20 up to CA$25 per spin, plenty of room for cautious players and high rollers alike. Max win sits at 20,000x your stake, the same ceiling as the original.

Symbols

The wild symbol, a golden W, substitutes for every regular symbol and pays 25x your stake for five of a kind. The top paying picture symbols, shield, helmet, Helena and Antonius, pay between 3x and 10x for five in a row, while the card values from 10 to A settle for 1.5x to 2x.

It's the coins, though, that do the heavy lifting in this game rather than the regular symbols, just like in the original. That's where the real payout sits, so keep an eye out for the Collect symbol on every spin.

Graphics and gameplay

The setting feels sharper and more detailed than in its predecessor, with crisper armour, brighter arena lighting, and a soundtrack that keeps a solid pace once the coins start raining down. The Deluxe version simply feels like a polished lap of the same gladiator vibe, without losing the charm of the original.

Game studio

Foxium is behind Rome Fight for Gold Deluxe, and you can find the game's own page on the developer's site if you want to dig deeper into the mechanics. The studio has built a solid reputation for coin-based slots under the Yggdrasil umbrella, and the Deluxe version is a clear sign they keep sharpening the formula.

What we think about Rome Fight for Gold Deluxe

We like that Foxium added more depth to the bonus features, the Mystery symbol gives a nice extra kick compared to the original. Volatility sits at a medium level, so you don't need a huge bankroll or ridiculous luck to feel the wins land.

If we're nitpicking, a bonus buy option would have been welcome for players who just want to jump straight into the coin hunt. Otherwise, the Deluxe version delivers exactly the gladiator feel we already liked in the original, just a bit sharper.
