About Casino-RTP
Who we are, why we built Casino-RTP and how the site is funded.
About Casino-RTP
Casino-RTP is run by two people who both work in the online casino industry. We check the RTP that online casinos actually use on their slots and publish what we find, so you can compare before deciding where to play.
Who we are
One of us has more than ten years of experience in strategy and marketing roles in the casino industry. The other has spent more than five years in technical roles at casinos.
Most of the RTP checks are done by the one of us with the commercial background. The other builds and maintains the site and the database, and spot-checks the data.
Why we stay anonymous
We both still work in the industry, so we have chosen not to publish our names. It keeps Casino-RTP separate from our day jobs. It is not a way to avoid responsibility for what we publish.
Neither of us works for any casino listed on Casino-RTP. If that ever changes, we will remove the casino from the site.
Since you can't verify who we are, we want you to be able to verify how we work. That's why we document our method openly, keep the date of every measurement and correct errors when we find them.
Who is "the editor"?
Articles on Casino-RTP carry the byline "the editor". That's the two of us. Everything published under that byline is written or reviewed by us, and we take joint responsibility for it.
How it started
The idea came up over lunch in January 2024. We were talking about the industry, margins and RTP levels. We both knew that many casinos choose lower RTP versions of their games. It is often a sensible business decision, and most players never check. For the players who do care, though, there was no easy way to compare.
So why didn't an RTP comparison site exist? The question quickly became a different one: should we build one ourselves? We decided we should.
Casino-RTP launched in Sweden in the summer of 2024. The Canadian database came later, with its first documented measurement in April 2026.
What we do
The core of Casino-RTP is our RTP database. We access the casinos, launch the games and read the RTP from each game's own help files. We do this for a broad selection of slots and repeat the checks over time to see when something changes.
Our Canadian site covers online casinos available to players in Canada outside Ontario.
The full details of how we collect, verify and calculate the data are on our page How we measure slot RTP at Canadian online casinos.
Casino pages also include information about welcome bonuses, so you know what to expect if you sign up. That information is a complement. The RTP data is the main thing.
How Casino-RTP is funded
Casino-RTP is affiliate-funded. When a visitor signs up at a casino through our links, we may receive a commission from that casino.
That commission does not affect the RTP values we record or the order of casinos when they are ranked by RTP. A casino that pays us less can rank above a more profitable partner if its measured RTP is higher. No partnership can buy a different RTP value either.
Play responsibly
The legal gambling age in Canada is set by each province and territory. It is 18 or 19, depending on where you live.
A higher RTP does not turn casino games into a way to make money. RTP is a theoretical average over a very large number of game rounds, and in any single session you can always lose.
If gambling stops feeling like entertainment, take a break and talk to someone. Free and confidential problem gambling support is available across Canada, and your provincial or territorial health services can point you to the right helpline.
