Gargantoonz

Dr Toonz is back in the lab, and this time he has managed to clone a tiny one eyed Gargantoon. Gargantoonz is the sixth game in Play'n GO's Reactoonz series and delivers the same chaotic alien energy fans have loved since 2017, now with some fresh tricks.

How Gargantoonz plays

The board is a massive 7x7 grid, quite a bit bigger than the original Reactoonz. There are no paylines here, instead you win through clusters of 5 or more matching symbols connected horizontally or vertically.

Winning symbols vanish and new ones cascade down, which can trigger win after win on a single spin. The max win sits at a whopping 7,000x your bet, which at a max bet of $100 CAD works out to a theoretical top prize of $700,000. The odds of actually landing it are under 1 in 100,000,000 spins though, so do not plan your retirement around it.

The top RTP is 96.2%, but Gargantoonz also comes in lower versions down to 84.2%, so picking the right casino genuinely matters here.

The Quantum Wild substitutes for every regular paying symbol and mostly shows up through the game's features rather than landing on its own.

Bonus features

Fluctuation randomly picks a low paying symbol each spin, and if you win with it you get 1 to 2 Quantum Wilds added to the board for free. Discharge can drop 4 to 8 wilds onto a non winning spin at random, no strings attached.

Winning clusters charge up the Experiment Charger, and once it is full one of three experiments triggers: Gamma Ray Burst, Black Hole, or Supernova, each spreading wilds across the grid in its own way.

Clear all three experiments and the Gargantoon meter charges up, eventually unleashing the Gargantoonz feature itself: eight 1x1 wilds that merge into two 2x2 wilds and then one giant 3x3 wild, multiplier included.

Our take on Gargantoonz

We really like the pacing of the experiments, it feels more rewarding than the original where the bonus feature sometimes wrecked a nice build up instead of helping it along. Volatility is high, so expect the odd dry spell between spins, but when the Gargantoon finally grows to its full 3x3 size, it genuinely feels worth the wait.
